My Fav Moment in Counter-Strike

I am an avid CS player. I have always loved being a terrorist. Its a thrill when I roam around a map (preferably de_dust, de_dust2 and de_inferno) with a Kreig rifle banging the opponents one by one. Earlier I used to be more focussed on the number of kills I have accomplished. So obviously I used to go for sniping. For this purpose my all time favorite used to be the D3/AU which has continuous bullets coming out through the muzzle with a two-step aim. Believe me, I used to climb up to the top position in no time. My friends over the lan and playing my opponents used to go desperate at my pursuance and me and my accomplices used to grab a victory in every game....

But now I have taken a different approach. Now-a-days I am more involved in moving hither & thither in search of my opponents. Now Kreig has become my best buddy. Though it also provides a bit of sniping action, yet it is ultimate thrill moving around the whole of the map and banging the counter-terrorists. And I bet a thousand bucks on the player who admits he has never enjoyed hitting a headshot... this is impossible! Headshots pump up your blood with more adrenaline to go on with your quest. Even the bots praise you when you achieve that, isn't it? The opposite happens when you suffer one. Your energy is drained & you tend to abuse the hitter (agree with me guys?)

Amidst learning the principles of the game such as aiming the heads of opponents always while hitting (it gives them little chance to parry and shoot you instead; upon success they fall backward with a splash of red..that's what you call a headshot!!), I have learned another vital aspect - using grenades and flashbangs. Very recently I have got to know how smoke grenades can really help. Suppose you have planted a bomb and you are the all alone. What you can do is throw a smoke grenade nearby and remain alert within its fumes. By doing this, you are not rendered easily visible and you can kill around three opponents or so if they are all coming together. This cloudiness has helped me win many games (difficult with human players though). And flashbangs and hand grenades also help you a great deal to kill your opponents from a distance and overcome them when they are too close.

Yesterday night I achieved a milestone - I killed four opponents out of eight using a hand grenade. The picture depicts the same. I was really overjoyed at my success. My team won the round soon after that. The picture shows me standing at the corner of the 'double doors' which leads to bombsite A of de_dust. That is my favorite place to stand with a grenade ready to throw when opponents come together, post planting of bomb.

There are many more things to learn in the game like hitting while moving or jumping, using sub-machine guns and revolvers (I use night hawk fairly well) and cover-firing. The gush of adrenaline and excitement never stops and I wish my game improves with time. As for this article, I hope both CS aficionados and non-players will find this article interesting.
